Ford Safety- Peace of Mind

Ford is at the forefront of technology and safety.  There are so many features available on the Ford line-up that you may have never heard of before or aware of what they actually do.  Today we are going to touch on a few of these.

ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL
Makes using cruise control more effortless.  With Adaptive Cruise Control you are able to set your desired GAP distance, so that when using the cruise control, it will adjust your speed accordingly without you having to apply the brakes.  As with conventional cruise control, when you do apply the brakes it returns the full control to the driver.  (Available on 2015 model Edge, Explorer, F-150, Flex, Fusion, Mustang and Taurus)

BLIS® (Blind Spot Information System) with CROSS-TRAFFIC ALERT
You have seen or been a part of a parking lot near miss.  Just pulling out and can’t see around the vehicle next to you.  If you have BLIS with Cross-Traffic Alert, that won’t be an issue for you any longer.   BLIS alerts when a vehicle enters your blind spot with an illuminating light in the side mirror while moving forward.  Cross-traffic alert is for those parking lot situations when a vehicle is approaching from the sides when you are in reverse.  Cross-traffic alert will illuminate in the side mirrors and chime inside the vehicle.   (Available on 2015 model Edge, Escape, Expedition, Explorer, F-150, Flex, Fusion, Mustang and Taurus)

HILL START ASSIST
The need for this feature might not be great in South Florida, but here in Tennessee it is a beautiful thing.  Coming to a 4-way stop on an incline, and having to move forward when gravity is not in your favor is an unnerving feeling.  With Hill Start Assist you won’t be gripping the steering wheel quite as tight.  When on a slope the feature is activated.  It allows you 2 seconds or more when in drive, before gravity can affect you, which is plenty of time to go from brake to gas.  The best part is there is nothing you have to do to activate it, it is there when you need it.  (Available on 2015 model Edge, Escape, Expedition, Explorer, F-150, Super Duty’s, Fiesta, Focus, Fusion, Mustang and Transit Connect)

If you are in the market for a new car and would like to try one of these, or the many other safety features which Ford offers, stop in for a test drive and experience the difference of Ford ingenuity.  These features are also available on 2014 models, ask a salesperson for a demonstration.
